People decide what technology is worth.
We help technology teams make decisions about features, users, pricing and positioning, from devices and connected services to apps and enterprise products: what to build, who it’s for, and what people need after launch.
What we’ve worked on
- Connected products and devices Wearables, computer and phone accessories, smart home and security, connected fitness, home audio and entertainment, home appliances, baby and health devices
- Consumer apps and digital services Apps and subscriptions, mobile gaming
- Workplace and enterprise technology Workplace technology, marketing and communications software, enterprise technology
What technology teams bring us.
Features, users, pricing and positioning: the questions behind what to build and how to sell it.
-
Features
Which features to build, and which people will use.
Every feature has to justify its cost and find a place in someone’s day. We help you see which features people would pay for and keep using, while the design can still change.
-
Users
Who to build for, and how to reach them.
We help you choose which customers to focus on, understand what matters to them, and give product, marketing and sales a shared picture of who they serve.
-
Pricing
What people will pay for, and how to package it.
A device, a plan, a tier or a bundle asks people to weigh a price against what they already have. We help you see which range and price people would choose, and estimate how demand shifts as they change.
-
Positioning
How to explain it, and to whom.
A product can be right and still be misunderstood. We help you find the story that makes the people most likely to buy see why it matters to them.
-
Business buyers
Who decides a business purchase.
The person who signs, the person who sets it up and the people who use it each want something different. We help you see what each needs, and how to package and price what you sell them.
-
After the sale
Why customers stay, and recommend you.
Setup, support and the first weeks of use decide whether customers stay, recommend you and buy again. We help support and experience teams see that time from the customer’s side.
Work that stays in use.
“The team is seeing application of the research, company-wide… We are making some major strides and I really appreciate the time, effort, and partnership from you and the team.”
Thinking for technology teams.

Your product is only part of what the customer is judging
A product team and its customers can assess the same product carefully and still judge different things. Research helps most when it links technical performance to the experience customers judge.
Questions technology teams ask.
We have our own research team. Where would you fit?
Usually where an in-house team is stretched: markets where you have no researcher, quant and segmentation across a whole market, people who aren’t your customers yet, and an independent read for leadership. We start from what your team already knows, and can work with your own usage and support data where you can share it.
Can you research a product that hasn’t been announced?
Yes, under a confidentiality agreement, with prototypes and products still in development. Where it helps, we run the research without naming you, so people respond to the product itself.
Do you research business buyers as well as consumers?
Yes. We hear from the people who choose, approve, set up and use what a business buys, as well as from consumers.
How do you use AI in the work?
We build our own AI agents and use them to look further and check harder. People judge the evidence and make the recommendation.
A product decision coming up?
Send us the decision. We’ll say what evidence would help, and whose view it depends on.
A partner or director will reply.
