- Customer due diligence interviews with a young brand’s professional and private buyers
The question
An investor was considering a stake in a young brand that sells online, to private buyers and to professionals. Before deciding, it wanted to hear from the brand’s own customers.
The question was simple to state: did the customers’ experience raise any concern, and what would make the brand stronger?
Our approach
Customer due diligence has to keep pace with a deal, so we planned to pass on any serious concern as soon as it appeared, ahead of the full report.
We spoke to the brand’s customers one at a time, professional and private buyers alike, since the brand sells to both and each buys for its own reasons.
Interviews ran remotely, which kept the work to the deal’s timetable.
What the team came away with
A view of the brand through its customers’ eyes, with actions for the short, medium and long term, in time for the investment decision.
Who we heard from
The brand’s own customers, both professional buyers and private buyers
